Understanding Expense Amounts
In the Timeline view, you might see two different amounts for a single expense:
- The main amount in regular text
- A grey amount below it (appears only when an expense occurs multiple times in the same month)
Example: Weekly Grocery Shopping
Let's say you have a weekly grocery expense:
In August 2025, this expense will appear like this:

The grey €400 appears because the expense occurs multiple times in August
The monthly total (€400) is calculated as:
- August 2025 has 5 occurrences of this weekly expense (1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd, and 29th)
- €80 x 5 = €400 total for August
This total amount is included in your monthly total at the top of the Timeline view. Marking this expense as paid will reduce the total amount by 80€ each time.
Example: Bi-weekly Gym Membership
In August 2025, this would show:

The grey €50 appears because the expense occurs twice in August (4st and 18th)
The grey €50 appears because the payment occurs twice in August.
Quick Payment Processing
When you see an expense in the Timeline:
- Swipe right to mark it as paid
- This automatically:
- Updates the payment date
- Recalculates the monthly total
- If it's a recurring expense, updates any monthly totals shown in grey

Interval Switching
You can easily switch between different time intervals:
- Tap the interval display (it shows "Monthly" by default)
- Each tap cycles through the available options:
- Monthly
- Yearly
This affects how the amounts are displayed:
- Monthly: Shows the monthly cost for each expense
- Yearly: Shows the yearly cost for each expense
Example
A Netflix subscription of €15/month will show as:
- "Monthly" selected: €15
- "Yearly" selected: €180
