Timeline View

Understanding Expense Amounts

In the Timeline view, you might see two different amounts for a single expense:

Example: Weekly Grocery Shopping

Let's say you have a weekly grocery expense:

Amount: €80
Frequency: Weekly
Date: August 1, 2025

In August 2025, this expense will appear like this:

The grey €400 appears because the expense occurs multiple times in August

The monthly total (€400) is calculated as:

This total amount is included in your monthly total at the top of the Timeline view. Marking this expense as paid will reduce the total amount by 80€ each time.

Example: Bi-weekly Gym Membership

Amount: €25
Frequency: Every 2 weeks
Date: August 4, 2025

In August 2025, this would show:

The grey €50 appears because the expense occurs twice in August (4st and 18th)

  1. Enter recurring expenses as they occur
  2. Use categories consistently
  3. Add notes for important expenses
  4. Check the Timeline view regularly to stay on top of payments
